PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION

The most common type of inspection of imported goods is the physical inspection of the goods prior to shipment in the country of delivery, and it is referred to as the pre-shipment inspection (abbreviated as PSI). PSI means the visual inspection for external quality and conformity of goods with contract data, as well as conformity of quantity, packaging and labeling to the contract data.

PSI in the country of delivery of imported goods to Uzbekistan
If you are an Importer, and you need to make sure that the goods supplied to you meet the contractual requirements, if you want to protect yourself from possible losses as a result of problems during transportation, if you have a large list of imported products and you want to facilitate its accounting, then PSI would be much helpful for your company, and you can use the services of the OMIC Group of Companies (OMIC Group).
Currently, the Buyer on a voluntary basis can initiate such inspection itself, and in some cases it can be appointed as mandatory - by the financial institutions, managers of investment projects.
In Uzbekistan, the requirements for the activity of inspection bodies are enshrined in the standard O'z DSt ISO/IEC 17020:2009 “General criteria for the operation of different types of inspection bodies”.

Comments: For doing a pre-shipment inspection, in addition to the application, are required the copies of documents as following: an import contract with a specification, quality / conformity certificates for goods, packing lists, invoices, and subsequently certificates of origin (and shipping documents). Inspection can be carried out according to the customer's choice and preliminary agreement with the supplier at the manufacturer's enterprise, at the warehouses of finished products, at the ports of shipment (sea, land and air), at customs warehouses.
